Letter - Fargo couple congratulates the Wildfire on a great year
To the editor:
Last fall after we hosted the Mott-Regent football team during the Dakota Bowl, I shared with Mr. Troy Mosbrucker, the business driver and many of the football players that we wanted to host the Mott-Regent Wildfire, should they make it to the state Class B basketball tournament. From the time you won the regional tournament, we were looking forward to hosting your team.
The Mott-Regent basketball team had a terrific season and it was exciting for us to watch the team play their brand of basketball. The communities of Mott and Regent can look with a great deal of pride in terms of community support. It was great to see the large student section with a larger section of parents, family and friends.
Coach John Butterfield and Coach Don Schaible did a great job in coaching and they had the respect of the players. It was fun for us to work with the coaches, the players, student managers and the team statisticians. We noticed immediately how respectful they were for others.
As your team hosts, we have enjoyed the opportunity of hosting you during your stay at the Class B basketball tournament. We hope we get another chance to host the Wildfire again in the future.
We wish the graduating seniors our very best with your careers and the returning players much success next season. Go Wildfire!
