In the first half, the Warriors outrebounded DSU 24-16 with 11 offensive rebounds. DSU only had three.

The Blue Hawks’ shooting was on point, finishing 25 of 55 from the floor and sinking 11 of 17 free throws. In the first half, DSU kept the scoring close and was never down by more than six points.

The Blue Hawks went into the half just down 42-37, but unraveled in the second. Junior forward Tevin Russell went 10 for 17 with a game-high 22 points, but the team gave up more rebounds. Lewis-Clark finished with 41 and had 16 offensive rebounds, compared to DSU’s eight. Lewis-Clark’s Brady Bagby had a team-high seven rebounds and contributed 13 points.

DSU travels to Montana for another conference game against Montana Tech at 4 p.m. Saturday. Despite the solid shooting performance against the Warriors, Orton said the key to competing with the Orediggers is rebounding the ball and taking care of each possession.
