Majettes defeat Midgets with solid 1st half
MINOT — The Dickinson High girls basketball team head into its holiday break with a 0-3 record, but are definitely not sulking.
“In the second half, I thought we played very well defensively and really got after it,” Dickinson head coach Dan Pender said. “Give credit to Minot, they played hard. Our girls just didn’t respond right away.”
Sydney Gangl led the Midgets with eight points and three assists, while Avery Privratsky added six and seven rebounds.
Jayden Moum scored a game-high 16 points and four assists, while Cassie Askvig posted 15 points.The Midgets have nearly two weeks off before hosting Williston at 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 4.“We are going into a break and we have eight days off with Christmas and all that,” Pender said. “We played great in the second half and we did a lot of positive things.”
