Man killed in construction accident in SD
WHITE LAKE, S.D. (AP) -- A man working on a wind project in southeast South Dakota was killed when he was run over by a semitrailer unloading construction materials.
Wanzek Construction spokeswoman Rebecca Young says 40-year-old Stephen McAdams died Friday afternoon at the site 11 miles northwest of White Lake. She declined to release more details, citing an ongoing investigation.
Highway Patrol trooper Michael Dale told The Daily Republic that McAdams got caught between the semi and a pickup. Dale says McAdams was run over by the semitrailer and died of abdominal injuries.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration tells KOKK radio that it is investigating.
Young says McAdams has lived in different areas of the country but his most recent listed address was Wrightsville, Pa. Wanzek Construction is based in Fargo.
