A 23-year-old Mandan man is dead after a head-on collision with a semi truck early Sunday morning on Highway 200 in northern Dunn County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Scott Anthony Wills was traveling westbound in his 1993 Ford pickup when he crossed the center line and struck a 2008 Freightliner semi driven by Brian Eugene Ballard, 36 of Monterey, La., who was hauling salt water to a disposal site east of Dunn Center.

Wills was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. Ballard was injured and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson.

The NDHP is investigating the crash, which took place near mile marker 103.
