Mayville State University sets enrollment record

MAYVILLE — Spring semester enrollment at Mayville State University has surpassed 1,000 students for the first time ever, the university said Thursday.

The college credits distance students for the increase, as their enrollment is up by about 13 percent compared to last year.

“We are pleased that more and more students are benefitting from the personal service brand of education for which Mayville State is known,” President Gary Hagen said in a news release.

The number of students enrolled for the spring 2014 semester is 1,020 as of Feb 10. That’s 4 percent more than last spring.
