Medora adds second Kat Perkins concert
MEDORA -- The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation is adding another Kat Perkins concert date.
Tickets for the first concert, which is set for 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at the Burning Hills Amphitheatre in Medora, went on sale Monday and sold out within four hours. A second concert will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.
“It was just overwhelming, the excitement for the first concert,” said Justin Fisk, the marketing director for the foundation. “The ticket sales for yesterday were just amazing.”
Perkins gained her fame after appearing on the NBC singing-talent show “The Voice,” where she made it to the semifinals. The Medora concerts are the Scranton native’s first after the show.
The foundation previously discussed having a second concert the next day but was concerned it would not sell enough tickets. Fisk said they didn’t have enough phones to handle the massive influx of calls.
“When the phones started ringing off the hook yesterday, we had to make some quick calls and get ready to be ready to offer the next concert.”
The second set of tickets went on sale Tuesday morning. As of 3 p.m., the foundation had sold 1,400 and had 1,400 remaining.
“We are really excited to put the second concert together so that everyone has a chance to see her.”
The country duo from Hazen Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, also known as Tigirlily, will open both concerts.
Tickets are available at Medora.com/Kat. Package deals for the Medora Musical and Pitchfork Fondue are also for sale with the concert.
