Medora City Council approves updated TRMF building plan
MEDORA -- A modified version of a plan to tear down an historic building that was denied by the Medora Planning and Zoning Board earlier this month has been approved by the town's City Council.
During a board of adjustment meeting Tuesday night, the council unanimously approved a plan brought by the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation to tear down the Badlands Pizza Parlor complex and replace it with a new building and a ticket office.
Also part of the plan, the foundation plans to move the historic Dakota Cyclery building -- which sits a few steps from the pizza parlor -- to a new location in downtown Medora. A similar plan that would have razed the bicycle shop building was denied by planning and zoning during a special meeting on Sept. 10.
