Last year’s Medora Musical hosts are returning for a second consecutive year.

Former Bismarck mayor Bill Sorensen and seasoned singer Emily Walter say they are looking forward to getting back to Medora’s 2,900-seat Burning Hills Amphitheatre for another season of performances.

“You couldn’t have a better office,” Walter said.

Sorensen served 12 years as Bismarck’s mayor, performing magic and producing shows for Medora’s 4M Revue in the meantime. Walter performed all over the world as the Air Force SAC Band’s lead vocalist. She has worked with stars like Bob Hope, John Denver and Lee Greenwood.

The pair have known each other for about 20 years, Walter said.

Three North Dakotans join the musical’s cast this year, including Dickinson’s Damon Fichter.

Performances will run nightly starting at 7:30 p.m. MDT from June 6 to Sept. 6.
