Miller nets 3 NAIA all-America finishes for Hawks

GULF SHORES, Ala. — Dickinson State junior Breyan Miller didn’t win a national championship Saturday, but he walked away from the NAIA outdoor track and field national championships with three all-America finishes.

Miller finished fourth in the 200 meters (21.27 seconds), sixth in the 100 (10.56) and helped the Blue Hawks’ 400 men’s relay team finish in third place with a time of 41.07 seconds.

DSU senior Brady Sundheim claimed sixth place and an all-America nod in the triple jump with a leap of 48 feet, 6 inches.

The Blue Hawk men finished 15th as a team.

On the women’s side for DSU, freshman Whitney Leuenberger finished 20th in the discus with a toss of 135-1. Senior Hailey Schaper failed to get a height in the high jump.
