Milnor, Minot Ryan get top spots in Class B poll

The Milnor boys basketball team and the Minot Ryan girls basketball team remained in the top spots for the sixth and fourth week, respectively, in the Class B poll.

Milnor — the defending Class B boys state champions — received all 14 first-place votes for 140 points. The Bison are 8-0.

Hazen (7-1) is the lone Region 7 schools in the top 10 holding down the No. 8 spot for third straight week. The top four schools in the poll remained the same with Rugby (7-0) in the No. 2 spot, Cavalier (7-1) at No. 3 and Four Winds-Minnewauken (8-1) at No. 4. New England (5-0) received votes.

On the girls side, Minot Ryan — the defending Class B girls state champions — garnered all 14 first-place votes for 140 points. The Lions (5-0) are defeating their opponents by an average of 27.8 points per game.

Beach (4-0) stayed at the No. 3 spot for the fourth straight week. The Buccaneers collected 102 points. Bowman County (4-0) received votes for the first time this year.
