Mon-Dak customers being scammed
Montana-Dakota Utilities is warning its customers of a telephone scam that has surfaced in parts of its service territory, according to a release from the organization Thursday.
The utility company is instructing customers who receive calls from an individual who states that service will be cut off if bills are not paid immediately over the phone to hang up on such solicitors.
Mon-Dak is also instructing those who receive such calls to contact the company at 800-638-3278 and to not share information such as credit card or checking account numbers. The release did not state where the fraudulent calls were being made or how many customers have being affected.
