Montana Tech names former NBA player as new athletic director
BUTTE, Mont. -- Montana Tech Chancellor Don Blackketter has announced that former University of Wyoming and Boston Celtics basketball player Charles Bradley has been named the school's new athletic director.
Bradley will begin work Wednesday replacing Joe McClafferty, who served as athletic director for six years before being named the school's vice chancellor for development and university relations.
Bradley earned All-America honors at the University of Wyoming, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. He was drafted in the first round of the 1981 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics, where he played for two seasons.
Bradley has also coached at the college level and held executive positions with several businesses before building two companies. Most recently, he was working in development for the basketball program at Mesa Community College.
Blackketter says Bradley brings a wealth of fundraising and administrative experience to the NAIA school in Butte.
