ND health department confirms first case of West Nile Virus

BISMARCK - A Richland County woman in her 50s has contracted the West Nile Virus, the first confirmed human case this year in North Dakota, the state Department of Health said.

The woman has not been hospitalized with her illness, a news release said.

At this time last year, the state had confirmed eight cases of the virus.
