ND medical marijuana ballot measure approved

Email

BISMARCK (AP) -- Secretary of State Al Jaeger has approved a ballot measure that would allow people to use marijuana legally in North Dakota for medical reasons.

Jaeger's action Monday means supporters of medical marijuana may begin gathering signatures to put the issue on the ballot.

They'll need at least 13,452 names to qualify for a vote. The signatures will need to be turned in by midnight Aug. 8 to get on the November ballot.
