The North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation is now accepting applications and nominations for assistance through its “Stockmen’s Aid for Atlas Disaster Relief Fund,” which was set up to help ranchers and farmers affected by an early October blizzard that devastated herds in parts of southwest North Dakota and western South Dakota.

Nomination forms are intended for those who want to submit the names of friends or neighbors who need assistance, but who might not apply themselves. To be considered, application and nomination forms must be submitted to the Stockmen’s Foundation by Jan. 31.

Based on need, plans are for the Stockmen’s Foundation to disburse funds to producers in early 2014. Those wishing to contribute to the fund can do so by mailing checks or money orders, with “Aid for Atlas” written on the memo line, to the Stockmen’s Foundation at 407 Second St. South, Bismarck, N.D., 58504.

Application and nominations forms are available at or by calling 701-223-2522.
