NDDOT urges caution on roads over Fourth of July weekend
With one of the country’s busiest and booziest holidays ahead, the North Dakota Department of Transportation is reminding motorists to drive safely this July 4 weekend
Construction around Dickinson and the state could cause delays in travel, and drivers should allow for extra time to get around, said NDDOT director Grant Levi in a statement released Thursday.
He said motorists can check roadway conditions by going to www.dot.nd.gov, calling 511 or checking the ND Roads app available for smartphones.
Drivers should follow speed limits, be patient with road work and minimize distractions while driving — don’t use a cellphone, change the radio station or do anything that takes your eyes off the road.
Anyone planning on drinking should designate a sober driver.
