Nekuda to step down as DSU track, cross country coach after this season
Another Dickinson State head coach is stepping down at the end of the school year.
Mike Nekuda, the head track and field and cross country coach, said he is resigning after the end of the outdoor track and field season to pursue family intersts.
Nekuda’s last day at DSU will be May 31, a week after the NAIA national championships.
Nekuda was hired as the head track coach in November after former coach Pete Stanton was hired as DSU’s head football coach. He had been the head cross country coach for three seasons.
Nekuda had three cross country runners earn all-Frontier Conference nods last season. All three competed at the NAIA national championship.
During the 2014 indoor track and field season, Nekuda helped five Dickinson State athletes to earn NAIA all-American honors.
