Nevada man gets 9 years for fatal stabbing on reservation
BISMARCK — A Nevada man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a fatal stabbing on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in 2012.
U.S. Attorney Tim Purdon announced Tuesday that Waylon S. Hicks, 22, of Schurz, Nev., was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge Daniel L. Hovland. A federal jury convicted Hicks of voluntary manslaughter in September.
