No. 3-ranked Griffins roll past, defeat DSU

SALT LAKE CITY — It was another performance to forget by the Dickinson State women’s basketball team.

Westminster College (Utah) remained perfect in Frontier Conference with a big 87-46 win over DSU Thursday night.

The No. 3-ranked Griffins (17-2, 11-0 Frontier) were on point all night, finishing 29 of 55 (53 percent from the field, 12 for 20 (60 percent) beyond the arc and 17 for 27 at the free-throw line. Amy Krommenhoeck had a strong performance and went 9 for 11 overall — seven which were 3-pointers — and scored a game-high 27 points.

Kelsi Wells and Tia Pappas each contributed double-digit points as well, scoring 12 and 15, respectively.

For the Blue Hawks (13-13, 3-8 Frontier), their strongest area of the night was at the fre-throw line, sinking 69 percent (11-16) of their baskets. Junior forward Ja’Lisa Gatlin led her team with 10 points while juniors Keshawnee Alley and JaiDah Richardson and sophomore Jalyn Klauzer each led in rebounds with four.

The Blue Hawks have today off and travel to rematch Montana-Western at 2 p.m. Saturday.
