Odyssey Theaters to expand cineplex to West Ridge Development
Dickinson’s getting a new movie theater.
Roers Development Inc. announced in a press release Wednesday that Odyssey Theaters has finalized the purchase of a tract of land in the West Ridge development in Dickinson. The site will be home to an eight-screen, all-digital, all-stadium cineplex scheduled to break ground this spring.
Odyssey Theatres took over the existing Cine 3 facility in the Prairie Hills Mall about two years ago with the aim of bringing the city a new cineplex.
Odyssey plans to close the three-plex at the mall once the new location opens in the fall of 2014. The new facility will feature wall-to-wall screens, high-definition digital projection and sound, a modern lobby with many amenities including a concessions area, party room and parking out front. Additionally, the theatre is expandable to 10 screens.
Odyssey Entertainment also operates theatres in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and Ohio. It specializes in bringing small- to medium-sized communities’ cineplex facilities.
Roers is a Fargo-based development company specializing in development, construction, property management and real estate sales and leasing. Roers has offices in Dickinson and Minot.
The West Ridge development is a 900-acre, multi-phase project located in the northwest corner of Dickinson off Interstate 94 Exit 59 and is the future home of Menards. The West Ridge master plan includes commercial, industrial, retail and housing. HomStay Suites and Value Place Hotel are open in the development.
