Oil Patch drives baby boom: North Dakota records 10,000 births for first time in almost 25 years
FARGO — North Dakota passed a milestone recently by exceeding 10,000 births, a benchmark that last was reached almost 25 years ago.
The moment happened in 2012, when 10,072 resident births were recorded. North Dakota last surpassed 10,000 births in 1988, when 10,111 babies were born.
