Oil well under control near Tioga

TIOGA — Crews have regained control of an oil well northwest of here and cleanup is expected to begin at the site, Williams County Emergency Manager Mike Hallesy said Tuesday.

The well owned by Emerald Oil began releasing oil, gas and water that was used for hydraulic fracturing on Friday evening.

The release was contained to the site and no injuries were reported. The Department of Mineral Resources Oil and Gas Division is monitoring the well.
