Out of Town opens kids store in Prairie Hills Mall
Children can be just as stylish as their parents, and a new boutique in the Prairie Hills Mall has made that its mission to help.
“We thought it would be cool to have a mini version of our Out of Town store because people have been so excited about it,” co-owner Brooke Ouellette said.
With the exception of teeny-tiny Uggs, Out of Town did not carry any children’s clothing.
“We had debated getting some over there, but we really wanted to have a whole special store for the kids where they could try stuff on and it’s all catered to them,” Ouellette said.
The store features unique clothing with limited quantities of each piece, just like the adult store across the hall.
“Once it’s gone, it’s gone, just like over there,” Ouellette said. “So everyone in town isn’t wearing the same thing. That’s something people really love about our store over there, so we thought we’d keep that going over here.”
The inventory will constantly be updated with each shipment, Ouellette said.
The store carries Burton, Ugg, L.A. Made and Steve Madden in children’s sizes, and the same brands for adults in Out of Town.
“The little kids’ Steve Madden’s are going to be same ones that are over in the adult store, just like a mini version,” Ouellette said.
Out of Town got it’s name because it carries the type of clothing that Dickinson residents typically went out of town for, Ouellette told The Press when the adult store in 2011 first opened.
The stores now carry designer threads for all ages except babies.
In addition to shoes and clothing, the stores carry outerwear, jewelry and other accessories.
“The brands that you know and love, now for your little ones,” Ouellette said. “It’s just a mini version of our contemporary clothing store over there. That’s what people can expect over here.”
