Dickinson police were called to Hagen Junior High School three times Tuesday.

In separate incidents, a 13-year-old boy was found with marijuana and a smoking device, Det. Terry Oestreich said, and a 14-year-old boy was found with cigarettes.

The 13-year-old was transported to the Youth Correctional Center in Mandan, Oestreich said.

School resource officer Ron VanDoorne said the frequency of such incidents varies.

"We work with the school to try to provide some education and intervention so we don't have to deal with these types of issues," he said.

A school employee also called an officer to perform an alcohol test on a student Tuesday, but the test was negative.
