Police, Sheriff Dept. see drugs arrests over weekend
The Dickinson Police Department and Stark County Sheriff’s Office made several arrests over the weekend, several involving drugs and alcohol.
-- Shortly after noon on Friday, Stark County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at the apartment above Cheers and Beers in Richardton, Capt. Dean Franchuk said. Joseph Mulske, 25, who showed a Gladstone address but was living in Richardton, was arrested for domestic violence, simple assault after a fight with his girlfriend.
-- After partying into the wee hours of Saturday morning, Wesley Wilmeth, 23, of Dickinson, and Christopher Lund, 30, from Duluth, Minn., allegedly rolled the vehicle Wilmeth was driving home into a drainage ditch, Dickinson Police Det. Terry Oestreich said. The vehicle was then reported to police as stolen.
“They gave the officers some false statements as to what happened, but eventually they admitted to what happened,” Oestreich said.
Wilmeth was arrested for false information to a police officer, duty on striking fixed property, driving without liability insurance and failure to give immediate notice of an accident. Lund was arrested for false information to a police officer.
-- A routine traffic stop in Dickinson by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of David Johnson, 43, of Gillette, Wyo., for methamphetamine possession, Franchuk said. Johnson was found with a small amount of the drug on him.
-- Dickinson Police responded to a suspicious vehicle reported near Hagen Junior High School on Saturday evening, where they found Christoff Martin, 23, of Dickinson.
Martin was arrested for felony possession of drug paraphernalia when an investigation of the vehicle uncovered needles, syringes and spoons, Oestreich said. While tests on the objects have not come back, these items are most commonly associated with methamphetamine and heroin use.
-- A traffic stop by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office near Belfield netted the arrest of John Steiner, 20, of Dickinson, for possession of heroin, and his unrelated minor passenger for marijuana possession, Franchuk said.
-- Two men were arrested Monday night at Liquid Assets in Dickinson after a fight, Oestreich said. Alex Maas, 30, of Dickinson, and Darrell Reed, 28, of Dickinson, were arrested for disorderly conduct, tumultuous acts. The fight allegedly started with name calling.
-- A Washington man was arrested Monday morning for driving under the influence of methamphetamine, Oestreich said. A passer-by noticed a vehicle being driven by Gary Hafer, 20, stopped in a driving lane on Third Avenue West near Applebee’s and called the Dickinson Police Deparment.
Hafer has been staying at a Dickinson motel, Oestreich said.
