Penalties led to power-play goals that put the Dickinson High boys hockey team in an early hole.

Mandan netted three goals in the first period as it defeated Dickinson 4-1 in a West Region game on Thursday at the Dickinson Recreation Center.

"All that we could do is take it one shift at a time," Dickinson head coach Tom Folske said. "Unfortunately we just ran out of time."
