Repairs completed at ND refinery damaged by blaze
BISMARCK (AP) -- Tesoro Corp. said Monday that repairs to a gasoline-making unit damaged by a blaze two months ago at its North Dakota refinery have been completed and the factory is running at full capacity.
The company had said the Jan. 19 fire cut production at the Mandan plant by about 10 percent, though the refinery has provided an adequate amount of fuel products to its customers since then.
Spokesman David Scholars says repair work was completed over the weekend.
The company says the blaze occurred at a furnace that processes an ingredient for high-octane gasoline. The fire consumed about 250 barrels of gas oil that's normally blended with gasoline to bump octane.
