Roughriders split with Patriots
FARGO — After coming away with a sweep against Fargo Post 400 on Friday, the Dickinson Roughriders American Legion baseball team was back to the diamond less than 24 hours later.
The Roughriders split with West Fargo taking the second game 10-6 on Saturday. The Patriots won the opener 8-5.
In the second game, Dickinson’s Luke Herauf and Mark Erickson combined for the win. Tanner Hopfauf sparked the Roughrider offensively supplying three hits — including a three-run home run — with four RBI.
During the opener, Dickinson (3-1) scored five runs in the second innings, but West Fargo responded with eight unanswered runs.
West Fargo’s Chase Gooding picked up the win, while Alex Huschka was charged with the loss. Dylan Skabo posted three hits, two RBI and a scored a run.
The Roughriders used scores of 19-4 and 17-10 to sweep Fargo Post 400.
Dickinson continues its season with the home opener against Glendive (Mont.) at 5:30 p.m. today.
