KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rookie Yordano Ventura pitched seven strong innings, and Alcides Escobar laced a two-run triple in a four-run seventh as the Kansas City Royals downed the Minnesota Twins 6-3 Thursday night.

Ventura (8-8) was pulled after 103 pitches. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out seven.
