The first half was competitive and back and forth. The biggest lead for either team was four points and DSU went into the half down 35-34 as junior guard Tevin Russell drained a 3-pointer with no time left on the clock.

The second half, however, was a disaster for DSU.

Down by one again with 3 minutes, 31 seconds left in the game, Carroll scored seven unanswered points and outscored the Blue Hawks 8-7 to clinch the win.

For Carroll, Dennis Mikelonis, Zach Taylor and Chris McGrath combined for 64 points on the night, while Mikelonis recorded a double-double. He finished 8 for 16 with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

For DSU, Russell scored a team-high 21 points and had six assists and five steals.

The Blue Hawks go on the road to finish out their season, starting with a rematch against Montana State-Northern at 8 p.m. Thursday and Carroll College at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
