It’s been three weeks since we saw Twin Cities rocker Kat Perkins win her first battle round on “The Voice.” Although it was a long wait, she was back on Monday’s installment of the NBC-TV singing competition for her second and final battle that would determine whether she made the show’s top 20.

Perkins, who is on celebrity coach Adam Levine’s team, went up against her fellow teammates, the folky Texas duo of Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes.

The 33-year-old Scranton native, who now calls Minneapolis home, and Dawn and Hawkes mutually decided to take on the song “Suddenly I See,” by KT Tunstall. And they got a little coaching help from mentor and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

“Kat has a strong voice and she’s comfortable in her skin,” Martin said during the mentoring session.

After their performance, Levine picked Perkins to advance in the competition, landing a spot in the top 20 and the playoffs. It was the end of the line for Dawn and Hawkes on “The Voice.”

“Kat has a very commanding presence and really beautiful voice,” Levine said after he announced his choice. “It’s very powerful. And when you have positivity and confidence and drive, it’s a dangerous cocktail.”

Perkins can be seen again during the show’s playoffs, which kick off 6 p.m.  Tuesday.
