Stomach flu hits state

BISMARCK (AP) -- State health officials say the stomach flu is showing up in North Dakota.

The Health Department has confirmed seven outbreaks since December. They've all been in institutional settings, such as schools and care facilities.

Surveillance epidemiologist Sarah Weninger says the stomach flu is not the same as influenza. But like influenza it's seasonal.
