Storm downs power lines in Killdeer, Dunn Center
Monday evening's thunderstorm and winds estimated at up to 70 mph have knocked down power lines and tipped over camper RVs in both Killdeer and Dunn Center, Dunn County Emergency Manager Denise Brew said.
"We have been hit very hard in Dunn County," Brew stated in an email to The Press.
Brew said that a propane line was broken in Dunn Center and that emergency personnel went "in a number of directions" throughout the county assessing damage. There was also damage to the old Dunn County Airport, which is in the beginning stages of being retooled for greater use in the burgeoning Oil Patch community.
County officials are asking that all non-emergency personnel stay off all roads in the county. The emergency operations center at the Dunn County Courthouse in Manning.
