Stroh again falls half-point short of money
LAS VEGAS -- For the second night in a row, Shaun Stroh scored a ride at the National Finals Rodeo but fell a half-point short of earning money.
The Dickinson saddle bronc rider took an 80 on Mosbrucker Rodeo's War Chick but was just short of the top six in Friday night's second round at Thomas & Mack Arena.
J.J. Elshere of Quinn, S.D., won the round with an 89.5 on Lock & Load.
Jesse Kruse, who entered the NFR as the year's money leader, was bucked off.
Kaycee Field won the bareback riding with an 89 on Dusty Dan.
B.J. Schumacher scored the win in the bull riding with an 88 on Mission Accomplished.
Shawn Greenfield won the steer wrestling in 3.6 seconds.
Scott Kormos had a 7.1-second time in the tie-down roping to win his round.
David Key and Rich Skelton had a 3.9-second run in the team roping to win their round.
Canadian Lindsay Sears won the barrel racing with a 13.95-second run.
While he's far enough ahead in the money winnings that he likely won't be touched, all-around leader Trevor Brazile again finished out of the money in both the team roping and tie-down roping.
