Taylor to run for ag commissioner

BISMARCK – A cattle rancher and former state senator who made an unsuccessful bid for governor in 2012 announced Thursday that he will be running for state agriculture commissioner.

Ryan Taylor, a democrat from Towner, said in a press release that he will officially announce his candidacy for the post with stops in Bismarck and Fargo on Friday.

Taylor is seeking the Democratic-NPL Party endorsement.

The post is currently held by Doug Goehring, a Republican, who faces a challenge for the GOP endorsement.

Taylor will be at the Fargo Train Depot Board Room, 701 Main Ave., at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
