Tornadoes reported near Bowman, in southern Billings County
The National Weather Service said that a tornado reportedly touched down southeast of Bowman late Monday afternoon.
A funnel cloud was spotted by as many as five trained weather spotters.
Bowman County officials could not confirm if the tornado had done any damage when contacted at about 4:50 p.m.
Connie Gaebe, who lives 3 miles west of Bowman, said she spotted the tornado from town while her husband, Randy, saw it from their farm.
"We didn't have any wind or anything, not at the time," she said. "Then we could see the tail getting longer and thinner and heading south a little bit more. We eventually got some rain and pea-sized hail, but nothing destructive."
At about 5:30 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of southern Billings County and northern Slope County after a tornado reportedly touched down.
