Trinity crushes Richardton-Taylor

RICHARDTON — After a slow start last Thursday against Beach, the Dickinson Trinity girls basketball team would not let it happen again.

The Titans scored 30 points in the first quarter and 46 in the first half en route to an 81-21 beatdown over Richardton-Taylor in a Region 7 game Monday night.

Five Trinity players finished in double-digits and combined for 62 points, more than three quarters of the team’s total. Kennedy Keator finished with 15, Rachel Jahner had 14, Brianna Soehren added 12, Katelyn Grinsteinner recorded 11 and Alanna Sickler supplied 10.

Trinity’s defense was sharp from the beginning and limited the Raiders to single-digits in the first half, recording 4 points in the first quarter and five in the second. The nine Richardton players who scored all recorded less than five points, Cassidy Diede, Samantha Steiner and Raegan Olson each had four points.

Trinity continues its road trip, traveling to play at Bowman County at 7 p.m. Thursday night.
