Two women are treated for injuries after accident Wednesday
The Dickinson Police Department reported Thursday morning that two Dickinson women were taken by the Dickinson Ambulance to Dickinson's St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center Wednesday evening after the vehicle they were traveling in struck a light pole in south Dickinson.
The vehicle driven by Janell Hollis, 31, was northbound on Eleventh Avenue Southwest around 7:12 p.m. and was making a right turn onto West Broadway.
Hollis and passenger Regina Carson, 34, both stated the vehicle had been having transmission problems. As a result, the vehicle lurched during the turn onto West Broadway, which caused it to fishtail.
Hollis lost control of the vehicle and ran into a light pole on the south side of West Broadway. The light pole was knocked to the ground and the vehicle sustained severe damage.
Hollis complained of knee pain and Carson complained of knee and chest pain as a result of the incident. Both were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
