UPDATED: Center man named in deadly motorcycle crash

BISMARCK — A 51-year-old man from Center died after losing control of his motorcycle Thursday on a highway in Oliver County, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.

Todd Bornemann had just ridden through a curve on Highway 48 about nine miles north of Center when the motorcycle drifted onto the road’s soft right shoulder for an unknown reason, the patrol stated in a news release.

Bornemann tried to straighten out the 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle but lost control of it and was thrown from the bike as it rolled, the patrol said. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash, which happened at 7:10 p.m., remains under investigation.

Center is about 40 miles northwest of Bismarck.
