A funeral service for Virginia Marie Bice, 96, of Killdeer, will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST, Friday, December 13 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with Pastor John Simonson officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7:00 p.m. MST at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer.
Virginia Weber Bice, 96, of Killdeer, gently slipped away to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday evening, December 7, 2013 at Hilltop Home of Comfort.
Virginia Marie Weber was born March 3, 1917, in Dunn County to Martin H. Weber and Agnes Steinfort Weber. She was raised and attended elementary school in the Grassy Butte and Badlands area. Virginia attended two years of high school in Killdeer, graduated from Model High School. She later taught Adult Education.
She married her high school sweetheart, Fern Bice, on October 27, 1937. They lived and ranched for 53 years 22 miles northwest of Killdeer on what was known as the Gust Elstrom ranch where they raised their four children. On September 27, 1991, Fern passed away. After living a year at the ranch, Virginia moved into Killdeer.
Virginia was Superintendent for the Killdeer Mountain Sunday School for 16 years. She was a member of the 50 Years in the Saddle Club, and the Stockmans Association for 53 years, and volunteered at the Dunn Center Museum. Virginia also was an active member at Johns Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bible studies, quilting at the church, as well as her many coffee clubs. Her hobbies were crocheting, knitting, gardening, and reading. She loved cooking and baking and was known for her donuts.
Virginia is survived by her children: daughters Shirley (Jim) Borg, Bismarck, ND; Coty (Darl) Grevious, Glendive, MT; son, James (Delores) Bice, Billings, MT; and daughter-in-law, Hollace Bice, Killdeer, ND.
Virginia has 13 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Naomi Brew, Bismarck, ND, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fern; one son, Charles Bice, three brothers: Willard, Martin (Dick), and George E. Weber; three sisters: Irene Scott, Helen Bice, and Agnes Scott.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
