Warren posts 19 as Cowboys down DHS

MILES CITY, Mont. — The Dickinson High boys basketball is still searching for its first win of the season.

The Midgets’ first win didn’t come in second trip to Montana.

Custer County defeated Dickinson 53-45 on Tuesday.

“We shot 26 percent for the game,” Dickinson head coach John Wilson said. “I thought we played defensive played well. Offensively, we did things to get good looks, but we just couldn’t get them to fall.”

Aanen Moody had a team-high 12 points, while Mark Erickson added 11 and Luke Herauf had eight. The Midgets went 12 of 15 from the free-throw line.

Dickinson held a 22-21 lead at halftime, but had a hard time shooting in the second half. Custer County’s Brock Warren had a game-high 19 points.

The Midgets return to the hardwood hosting Bismarck High at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
