LEWISTON, Idaho — The Dickinson State women’s four-game road trip kicked off Thursday night, but it wasn’t to a good start.

Lewis-Clark State College defeated DSU 83-59 in a Frontier Conference game on Thursday.

In the first half, DSU had an 11-point lead but the Warriors chipped away with 11 unanswered points to tie the game 21-21 with 5 minutes, 17 seconds left. LCSC found its momentum and extended its lead to 14 before DSU senior guard Mariah Duran hit a late 3-pointer with five seconds left in the half to bring the score to 37-26.

Duran led with 20 points, 15 of which were from 3-point range. Senior forward Jess Bygate added 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. DSU shot 40 percent from the field which was better than LCSC, which made 28 of its 74 shots (38 percent).

DSU committed 16 turnovers in the first half and 29 overall, giving Lewis-Clark the extra chances to pull away in the second. In the first five minutes, the Warriors pulled away and expanded their lead to 24 points and DSU struggled to come any closer than 12 points. For Lewis-Clark, Tanis Fuller, Brittaney Niebergall, Caelyn Orlandi and Laurenna Plourd combined for 61 points, with Fuller scoring a game-high 26 points and six steals. Niebergall had 14, Orlandi supplied 11 while Ploud added 10.

The Blue Hawks travel to Butte, Mont., to take on Montana Tech at 2 p.m.
