Western N.D. in high wind warning through Tuesday morning
Most of North Dakota is being advised by the National Weather Service of high winds passing through the state Monday night.
All of western North Dakota, including most of The Dickinson Press readership area, is in a high wind warning. Areas closer to Bismarck are in a wind advisory while a winter weather advisory has been issued for the central, south central and southeast portions of the state.
Sustained winds of 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph will occur through Monday night with winds diminishing around daybreak Tuesday. Gusts of 58 mph or higher can lead to property damage.
Areas of blowing snow may occur, creating hazardous travel conditions. The high wind warning is in effect until 5 a.m. MST.
