James Waldhart, 51, of Laramie, WY, passed away after the Ford F-650 truck he was driving struck a 2007 Kenworth semi being driven by Samuel William Wing, 30, of Salmon, Idaho on Highway 2 near mile marker 40 just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The accident report stated that Wing negotiated a U-turn in the median crossover and was accelerating eastbound on Highway 2 in front of the truck being operated by Waldhart when the F-650 struck the rear of Wing’s attached tanker-trailer, which was hauling saltwater.

The report stated that approximately 100 barrels of production water spilled as a result of the accident and that the State Health Department was alerted of the spill. Both men were wearing seatbelts and Wing was not injured during the crash, according to the release.
