ND co-op dedicating $363 million SD wind farm
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- North Dakota-based Basin Electric Power Cooperative is planning a dedication ceremony for a $363 million South Dakota wind project.
The Crow Lake Wind farm just east of Chamberlain began operating in late February after about five months of construction. Basin says the 108-turbine, 162-megawatt farm is the largest wind project in the country owned solely by a co-op.
The dedication ceremony is set for 10:30 a.m. on June 23. South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard is to speak.
Basin provides electricity to 135 rural electric systems in nine states.
