Lorraine Wollenburg

Lorraine O. Wollenburg, 85, Oshkosh, Wis., died peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Brookdale Sterling Hous, Oshkosh.

Lorraine’s funeral service is at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2008, at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, Wis., with the Rev. Terry Larson of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial is in the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.

Family and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society.

Lorraine Orieanna Suhr was born on Sept. 20, 1922, daughter of William and Minnie (Mueller) Suhr in Hustisford, Wis.

On April 22, 1942, she married Percy Krebs at Bethany Lutheran Church, Hustisford.

He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1957.

Lorraine married Virgil Wollenburg on June 12, 1965. Milwaukee, Wis.

Lorraine attended the State Teachers College in Oshkosh, and was a lifelong Lutheran church member.

She lived in North Dakota after her second marriage and in retirement lived in North Dakota, Phoenix and Wisconsin.

Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her whole family.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil Wollenburg, Beaver Dam, Wis.; six children, Orie (Ron) Willms, New Rockford, Dale (Margaret) Krebs, Brooks, Wis., William (Sandy) Krebs, Oshkosh, Craig (Sandy) Wollenburg, Rugby, Leah (John) Gutekunst, Chapel Hill, N.C., and Lana (Todd) Syverson of Soldotna, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, one brother, Raymond (Delores) Suhr, Luverne, Minn.; one sister-in-law Ardell Suhr, Watertown, Wis.; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman and Wilmer Suhr.

The family wishes to thank Brookdale Sterling House and Aurora Hospice Care, Oshkosh, for the wonderful care given to Lorraine during the past five years.
