Hearing is rescheduled

A 22-year-old Dickinson man, who was recently charged with a felony, has had his preliminary examination rescheduled.

DICKINON - A 22-year-old Dickinson man, who was recently charged with a felony, has had his preliminary examination rescheduled.

Luiz C. Duarte’s preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 17, but the date was moved to April 14 at 2 p.m. because attorney Mary Nordsven was recently retained to represent Duarte.

According to the criminal complaint filed with the court, on or about Jan. 31, 2008, Duarte allegedly possessed approximately two ounces of cocaine, along with a scale, plastic baggies, and other apparent drug paraphernalia.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, cocaine.

This constitutes a Class A felony.
