Richard Schneider, 82, New Salem, formerly of Hebron, died Thursday, April 10 2008, at the Elm Crest Manor, New Salem.
Richard’s funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008, at the First Congregational UCC Church, Hebron.
Burial is in the Congregational Cemetery, Hebron.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday at Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron, with prayer services at 7 p.m.
Visitation continues one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.
Richard was born on Sept. 12, 1925, on a farm in rural Hebron, the son of Henry and Helen (Sayler) Schneider.
He was raised on the farm and educated in rural schools.
He married Lorine Kessler on Nov. 19, 1953, at the New Glueckstal Church, north of Glen Ullin.
Following marriage, they settled on the farm.
They farmed until 1979, when they moved to Hebron and Richard took employment at the John Deere implement in Dickinson and later at Richardton.
Wanting to work closer to home, he took the maintenance position at the rest area’s near Hebron for several years, and lastly worked for Dale Heinle on the farm.
Due to declining health, he entered the Elm Crest Manor late last year.
He is survived by his wife, Lorine, Hebron; two daughters, Lavonne (Pat) Schwartzenberger, Mandan, and Candace (Stephen) Wolff, Dickinson; his three grandchildren, Cora Rabenberg, Lisa Schwartzenberger and Jessie Sickler; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Esther Rosin, Elgin, and Alma Mernitz, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
