DICKINSON - The Dickinson District Office of the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported Friday that a Center woman may have died from a medical condition while driving on Thursday.

Lila Schwalbe, 64, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 from Billings, Mont., to Center. She drove off the roadway by mile marker 32 near Belfield at about 1 p.m.

Schwalbe went through the median and across the westbound lane. Her vehicle entered the north ditch, struck a reflector post and continued east in the north ditch for about a quarter of a mile before coming to a stop.

There was light damage to the right front corner of the vehicle.

It is believed Schwalbe died as the result of a medical condition, causing the vehicle to go out of control.
